Proteus from CTI helps Guys and St. Thomas NHS Trust save costs

and increase billing accuracy

 

 

Guy’s & St Thomas required a reliable and accurate Call Management solution, capable of processing thousands of calls a day on more than 8000 separate lines.  As the Trust have a significant spend on phones calls per year, keeping track of and re-billing these costs to the correct department is of paramount importance in order for the correct monies to be recouped. 

 

CTI and Guy’s and St. Thomas NHS trust have been working together for over 10 years.  As a result of CTI’s superior understanding of their business and the functionality of the Proteus solution a Call Management system to perform telecoms billing was supplied.   CTI were engaged to supply the Proteus Corporate Call Management solution which was recently upgraded to the latest Proteus Enterprise solution.  Once implemented, this solution resulted in tangible savings for the Trust which significantly improved their revenue.

 

Proteus Enterprise is advanced management software that gives you total visibility of your voice and data costs.  It delivers a wide selection of management reports that help to improve the management, control, efficiency and productivity of your communication networks, technologies and people.  Proteus Enterprise will produce data from phone, mobile, internet, and Email communications tools.   

 

The Proteus Call Management solution allowed the Trust to focus on two key areas.  In the first instance they wanted confirmation that the Telecoms bills received from their Carrier were accurate.  Proteus provides backup calls costing so Guy’s & St Thomas could compare these with the bills they receive.  Secondly they wanted to be able to bill certain departments for the costs of their calls.  Proteus allowed Guy’s & St Thomas to work out the cost of calls and provide accurate billing to these departments. 

 

The Proteus solution covers the two hospitals over four sites based in London and is logging over 8,000 lines. 

 

The results gained by the Guy’s and St. Thomas NHS Trust from using Proteus were immediate.  With the provision of accurate and speedy reports they were also able to measure exactly what their call costs were and cross-charge to relevant departments, making savings as soon as the software was installed.
